During NEPSE trading hours (Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM NPT), index values, turnover, and top movers refresh automatically. Each data point displays the exact time it was last updated so you can judge freshness at a glance. Outside trading hours, the figures reflect the most recent session close.
What is the NEPSE Index and how is it calculated?
The NEPSE Index is a market-capitalisation-weighted composite index maintained by the Nepal Stock Exchange. It captures the overall direction of the market. NepseAlerts displays the official figure sourced from NEPSE; we do not calculate or adjust it independently.
What does 'breadth' mean on the dashboard?
Market breadth is the ratio of advancing stocks to declining stocks in a session. A high breadth reading (more advancers than decliners) suggests broad participation in a rally. NepseAlerts shows raw advancer and decliner counts alongside the breadth ratio.
Why does turnover sometimes look different from NEPSE's official figure?
Intraday turnover accumulates throughout the session, so a figure captured at 1:00 PM NPT will be lower than the final session turnover published after market close. The timestamp next to each figure tells you exactly when NepseAlerts last fetched the data.
Alerts
How do I set up a price alert?
Navigate to the company page for the stock you want to monitor, then click 'Create alert'. You can set a target price (above or below the current price) and choose your notification method. Alerts are checked against intraday prices during trading hours.
How are alerts verified before they reach me?
Price alerts fire only when the live market price crosses your threshold. Announcement alerts are sourced directly from official NEPSE and company disclosures — no user-generated or unverified content is surfaced.
Can I set alerts for multiple stocks at once?
Yes. You can create as many individual alerts as you need from each company page. Your full alert list is available on the Alerts page in your account.
Data accuracy & sources
Where does NepseAlerts get its data?
Market data is sourced from official NEPSE feeds and publicly available exchange disclosures. Company announcements are pulled from NEPSE's official announcement system. We display the source and the fetch timestamp on every data point.
Is the data real-time or delayed?
Intraday data may carry a short delay inherent to the upstream NEPSE feed. We do not artificially delay data, and we always display the exact timestamp of the last successful fetch. If the market data service is unavailable, the platform shows a visible warning rather than silently displaying stale numbers.
What should I do if I spot a data error?
Please contact us at support@nepsealerts.com with the symbol or index name, the incorrect value you saw, and the approximate time you noticed it. We investigate and correct data issues as quickly as possible.
Account & notifications
Do I need an account to use NepseAlerts?
No. The full market dashboard, live prices, floorsheet, announcements, and sector data are accessible without signing in. An account is required only to save watchlists and create personalised price alerts.
How do I change my notification preferences?
Go to Account → Notifications. You can choose how you receive alerts (email, push, or both) and set quiet hours so you are not disturbed outside your preferred times.
